Delegate to Congress for the Virgin Islands
Helped secure for rebuilding after Hurricanes Irma and Maria
Ways and Means, Intelligence and Budget
Stacey E. Plaskett has spent her career opening doors for the Virgin Islands and bringing resources home. Since 2015, she has served as the Territory’s Delegate to Congress, building relationships across Washington and pressing for the federal investment our islands need to move forward.
Following Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Stacey became a leading advocate for the Virgin Islands’ recovery. Her work has helped secure more than $24 billion for rebuilding, health care, infrastructure, energy, and economic opportunity. She has also fought to improve federal health funding and to ensure that decisions made in Washington reflect the realities of life on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John.
Stacey understands that securing resources is only the beginning. Families need reliable power, functioning hospitals, strong schools, and a government that turns commitments into results they can see and feel. She brings the relationships to obtain support, the experience to navigate complex challenges, and the determination to see the work through.
Before her election to Congress, Stacey served as a prosecutor, worked at the U.S. Department of Justice, practiced in economic development and project finance, and advised businesses on growth. In Congress, she has served on the Ways and Means, Intelligence, and Budget committees, giving the Virgin Islands a voice in decisions that shape its future.
A wife, mother of five, and grandmother, Stacey knows what is at stake for families who love our islands and want their children to build their lives here. As the Democratic nominee for Governor, she is running with Milton Potter to bring federal experience and local leadership together in a government that listens, acts, and answers to the people it serves.
Senator and President of the 36th Legislature, former Director of Personnel.
